With summer almost upon as and a potential house move on the horizon, I’ve actually been trying to stay off eBay recently in a bid to keep temptation at arms length. So it felt especially fun to break my hiatus and have a browse. Lots of good bits, lots of things under £100. Enjoy!
You all know I’m partial to a striped sofa so it’s no surprise this one turned up in my eBay suggested this week. The photos are a bit wacky but the shape caught my eye immediately - so boxy and those wide arms. It’s a two-seater so relatively small but the seat looks nice and deep. What a statement.
These glass clam shells would be a fun addition for any summer table. £20 + postage. I also like that there’s eight of them, which means, if like me you err on the clumsy side, you can put a few away as spares for inevitable breakages.
I don’t think the frame is doing it any favours (although I’m sure you could easily paint it) but the bright tones in this 1970s watercolour are wonderful. It’s small but still a really good price.
If you’re partial to an ornamental pear, look no further than this cast iron one.
Ever since spotting this vivid green glass-fronted cabinet I’ve been desperate to get my hands on something similar. The below is crying out to be painted a fun colour. I love the curved cornicing at the top. Perfect for a kitchen or a bathroom.
Something about the combination of blues and reds in this Studio Pottery bowl. A great size to go in the middle of a coffee table and under £50.
Wouldn’t the stack of papers on your desk look so much more appealing with a chameleon paperweight atop?
It’s hardly the weather for extra woollen layers but I’ve always got one eye out for a good bedspread. This plaid one is on Etsy and from Italy.
Nothing super special but this olive green mirror is a great colour and at under £25, an inexpensive way to jazz up a wall although I think would look especially good in a downstairs toilet over a printed wallpaper. It’s plastic but it looks solid and well made.
I often use vintage fabric scraps as table runners, partly because I can’t use a sewing machine so there isn’t much else I can do with them, but also because they’re usually the right sort of size. A longer length that’s not too wide. This eBay seller specialises in fabric and textiles and always has some good treasures. You can’t go wrong with a good stripe but for something a little less predictable this 1960s/70s Japanese fabric length from an old kimono is mega.
If you’re looking for a good pop of colour this 1970s Danish side table would do the job. Great as a bedside table or just an excellent accent table in your living room.
Two paperweights in this round-up but this metal Jack shaped one I think would look better on and really elevate a stack of coffee table books.
This is the point where I got tired of trawling eBay and went to check out some of my favourite sellers. This lithograph by Carl-Erik Bodén via Kept London jumped out straight away. A good frame too.
I don’t think you can go wrong with a round mirror, they’re more decorative and more practical than a small rectangular one. This beautiful French Arts and Crafts mirror is via Eesome.
That’s all for today, I’ll be sending my April round-up next week. Hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
