#015 - Friday Finds
10 second-hand finds I'd like to have in my home
Hello! It’s been a long while since I sent out a Friday Finds round-up and a really long time since I’ve let myself scour eBay. A total detox was enforced in the run-up to moving house to avoid any temptation. I faltered once and bought this ‘vintage’ checkerboard Ikea throw - whoops. No idea how old it is, I tried googling it for more context but couldn’t find anything. It’s currently cheering up the semi-unpacked state of our spare bedroom.
Ten finds today, and as always the vast majority under £100.
This pine mirror felt very Swedish to me. I like the shape, especially the cross-section at the bottom which chunks it up a bit. Also those tulips carved into the sides. And at £99.90 it just falls the right side of the £100 marker.
I know splatter ware is a bit overdone these days but I really love this pair of glossy wall-mounted vases . Something a bit celestial about them. I think they’d look great either side of a mantle or on their own, with or without flowers. One has broken at the tip and been fixed but the photos are really clear and I don’t think it’s too obvious! They’re £45.
Definitely not kid friendly but I really love the design of this industrial verdigris coffee table. It’s £185.
Or, on the other end of the scale, there’s something about this painted pine coffee table that cries out to me, the contrasting leg especially. I’d tart it up with some gloss paint in a bold colour. It’s £59.99 and can be posted for an extra £15.
A very simple but very classic king-sized Conran-esque metal bed originally purchased from Heals. A total steal at £94 if you ask me.
A cute trio of conical stoneware bud vases. Like the colours together - especially the brown and blue. £10.80 for the three.
A sweet signed etching of trees for £30. I also really like the green mount it comes with - think you could get an inexpensive green frame to go with and it would look pretty pro on the wall.
From a professional seller so a bit more expensive but I love the chunky shape of this 1970s pine lamp. It comes with the shade too.
I’m not sure how old this painting is is but a cute artwork all the same and only £40. Blue and brown tones speaking to me again, with a little pop of red. Perfecto!
There’s actually two of these Hungarian Brown Majolica plates but the other has been previously broken and mended. However, I’d happily pay £8 just for one so worth including I thought!
Until next time x
